Carmel Summer Meals Program

The Carmel Summer Lunch program helps provide food for families in need. This program helped to feed over 200 children this summer alone here in our community. Our role in this multi-organizational effort is to deliver the food for those that are unable to pick it up. This happened each Wednesday during the summer (June - August) while school is not in session, with pick-up of food and delivery at the Merciful H.E.L.P Center. The total time commitment for volunteering is less than an hour each week to simply pick up a box(s) of food and drop it off to the assigned families.

If you’re interested in helping out next year, please contact Peter Primason!

23,806!!

That is how many meals were donated by the community to local youth through the Carmel Summer Meals Program. Thanks to the loving dedication of our committed volunteers, and the tremendous generosity of our community, we were able to provide enough food over 11 weeks to make up nearly 24,000 meals.

We heard wonderful comments from families including:

"I can't say enough positive things about my group this year! It has been so helpful over the summer and provided some relief to our family. Thank you to everyone that has helped get this project off the ground!"

"You made our family feel welcome and we never felt judged; just enthusiastically aided. Thank you very much!"

Thank you especially to the Merciful H.E.L.P. Center, St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, Orchard Park Presbyterian Church, Carmel Rotary, and Carmel Clay Schools for all their support and help to make this program possible. And thanks to all of YOU for your support in helping to feed youth and families in our community!
